Surreal Vs. Abstract "Painting Project"

Students learned the difference between surreal and abstract and created their own scene containing the elements of one of these topics.

Objective:
Students will choose a photo of either someone they know or a famous person.  These faces will be transformed into a grey scale drawing working on the above skills.

Line Unit (Combining Line with Pattern) Project 1

Students were to choose a plant, animal or person to represent using a combination of line and pattern.  In class we discovered the effect that different types of line and pattern have on the viewer and how we can make someone feel a specific way just by looking at our art.
